Gregory A. Furer is a life long resident of Buffalo Township and a Freeport High School Alumni. Gregory assumed office while still attending the University of Pittsburgh. Gregory graduated with a degree in Accounting. He works as a financial consultant with PNC Bank. Although this is first term as a Supervisor and as an elected official, Greg is no stranger to public service. He is a second generation Supervisor. His father, Cecil D. Furer was a Township Supervisor for 18 years. Also Greg's grandfather, Cecil C. Furer served on the Municipal Authority Board for 27 years. Greg is very active in the Butler County political process. He serves as a Butler County Republican Committeeman for Buffalo Township, Treasurer of the Butler County Republican Committee, Treasurer of the Butler County Young Republicans, and active volunteer and treasurer of several of the county’s political campaigns. Greg is also active in the Butler County Young Professionals, serves as President of his chapter of Business Networking International, helps with a local ministry feeding the homeless, and serves as a Youth Group Advisor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeport. Greg's main goals as a Supervisor have been to focus on fiscal management and maintain the taxes at current levels. He is also an avid supporter of parks and recreation. He wants to bring more recreational options to the area for the residents. Greg also believes we need to work with our neighbors and focus on our regional problems together. Greg is always open to listening to residents’ comments. He is a firm believer in the community playing an active role in government.
